This week an architect said to me, "I don't see any reason why a new product installed today would not be LED." While I don't necessarily agree quite yet, his point is coming true. The times we are living in now are similar to the time of Edison's lamp. The electric lamp brought the end of the gaslight industry. LEDs are bringing the end of filament and arc tube lamps. I can lament that reality or I can make sure that the the LED sources being installed today are of a quality that I want to spend the next 25 years of my life living under. Let's get out there and specify quality LEDs before every existing socket gets filled with a poor-color, bad color temperature, flickering replacement lamp!
